DNS Security – Web Content Filtering

Networkmaine provides and supports Cisco Umbrella to assist K12 schools and public libraries comply with the content standards required for E-Rate subsidy funding and to protect against phishing, malware, and other cybersecurity threats. K12 schools and libraries are able to customize their Umbrella configuration preventing access to material that violates their organization’s acceptable use policy and apply the levels protections most appropriate for their schools.

On Demand DDoS Mitigation

Networkmaine, in partnership with other R&E organizations in New England, is able to leverage Akamai’s distributed denial of service (DDoS) mitigation service to lessen the impact of DDoS attacks and successfully protect against them. When a DDoS attack is detected against a Networkmaine member, Networkmaine is able to deflect the DDoS traffic while letting the member’s legitimate traffic continue to pass.

Incident Notification and Response

Networkmaine notifies members of cybersecurity events or incidents that may warrant additional investigation or actions and offers assistance with their incident response. Through the University of Maine System, Networkmaine participates in information sharing and incident notifications with The Research and Education Networks Information Sharing and Analysis Center (REN-ISAC).
